Tough Love has had the unique opportunity of opening its doors during the Covid-19 pandemic. The quarantined months of uncertainty, worrying, stress eating, binge drinking, but most importantly reflecting, gave us the push to make this dream a reality. After months of searching for the perfect spot to start this new adventure, we’ve found our home in the heart of the Marigny in our city, New Orleans, LA. Tucked half a block in from St. Claude, we are a 5 minute walk to the French Quarter, and a 5 minute walk the other direction to some of our favorite bars and karaoke spot on St. Claude. Making the shop as beautiful and approachable as possible was equally as important to us as our location. Integrating our pink walls and modern approach with a traditional tattoo shop, and also each of our different backgrounds, has created the environment we have always envisioned. Jason has been tattooing around the country since 2008, and Kat has a background in gallery operations and curating. Together, we aimed to develop a creative and new approach for a tattoo shop. Everything you see in this shop was built by us, and built with love. It wasn't easy, but we love what we do. Hence the name.
